Valiant Lady will dock close to Las Ramblas at the World Trade Center in Barcelona, in an area usually reserved for small luxury cruise ships and mega-yachts.
‘We are thrilled to unveil the name of our second ship and to deliver on our commitment to offer travellers a sea change in how they can experience cruising in this fantastic part of the world,’ said Tom McAlpin, CEO of Virgin Voyages.
‘Our sailors will fall in love with the places we go and the moments and memories they will be able to create on our gorgeous ship. After all, there is no better way to sail the seven seas than doing it the Virgin way.’
The line’s first ship, Scarlet Lady, is being launched in February 2020 and will call at Dover and Liverpool before heading to Miami to begin sailing seven-night Caribbean itineraries all year round.
Both ‘lady ships’ will be adults-only and carry more than 2,770 passengers and 1,160 crew. Two more ships are on order.
