Blogger Emma Le Teace has hit her £5,000 donations target after having her hair cut off for charity on board a cruise ship.

The 24-year-old, who runs cruisingisntjustforoldpeople.co.uk, ‘braved the shave’ on Marella Discovery to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The hair that was cut off by the ship’s captain in front of an audience in the main theatre will be donated to the Little Princess Trust to make wigs for children affected by cancer.

Emma said: ‘I am absolutely overjoyed to have raised £5,000! That’s enough to fund a Macmillan social care worker for almost two months so a lot of people will benefit from the money raised.

‘A big thank you to Antonio Paradiso at MSC Cruises who donated the last £150 needed to reach our target!’

Emma added: ‘I am getting used to life without my hair. It is freezing but I am comforted by the knowledge that somebody else will be benefiting from my hair donation. I’m also getting to try a lot of new hats which I’m enjoying…

‘I’d like to thank everybody who donated and Marella, who were brilliant at helping me organise the event.’
