A shipload of love with a Scarlet Lady: Virgin Voyages is giving away 2,021 cruises to the world’s ‘unsung heroes’

Scarlet Lady’s red, the sea is blue… Virgin Voyages has a treat for you!

Virgin Voyages is going all lovey-dovey and giving away 2,021 cruises starting on Valentine’s Day.

But it’s not just romantic partners they want to celebrate – Sir Richard Branson’s new line wants to toast unsung heroes, asking people to nominate someone who has inspired or cared for them during the past year to enjoy the holiday of a lifetime.

A spokesperson said the ‘Shipload of Love’ initiative is ‘meant to pay tribute to those who have impacted our lives in a meaningful way. No good deed is too small, and no individual is to be overlooked. Love and beauty exist in the eye of the beholder, including our unsung heroes, who have shown us that their embrace makes the world a better place.

‘It’s a tribute to those who have lifted us up, taken care of us and our loved ones and those who have brought positivity into the world. Virgin Voyages believes in the wanderlust of travel and knows the time to seek adventure is on the horizon.’

Nominations for the first 1,000 lucky winners open on Valentine’s Day which, as well as being the traditional day of love, also celebrates a year since Virgin Voyages’ first ship, Scarlet Lady, was handed over from the shipyard.

Entrants will be asked to submit a short video by March 16, saying why their nominee should be given a free cruise. They will also be encouraged to share the love across Twitter, Instagram and Facebook for more cabin giveaways. The rest of the free cruises will be given out over the remainder of 2021.

For her inaugural sailing season this year, Scarlet Lady will sail to the Caribbean with stops at The Beach Club at Bimini.

Virgin Voyages, which will also welcome Scarlet’s sister Valiant Lady to Miami this year, will soon release the name of its third ‘Lady ship’ and her itineraries.

Nominations for the free cruises can be submitted from February 14 at http://shiploadoflove.com
