Here it is, the painting of Queen Mary 2 in a German shipyard that was unveiled on the ‘remastered’ liner today.
Marine artist Robert Lloyd visited Blohm + Voss in Hamburg, where the Cunard flagship received its extensive makeover, just 16 days ago. But he already had a vision of what the finished artwork would look like, set as the skies darkened but with some remaining sunlight catching the workers busy at their tasks.

In that time he has not only had to paint all the intricate details but also have the 5ft by 4ft canvas framed, and photographed to produced prints.
The artwork was revealed to invited guests today as QM2 docked in Southampton after its 25-day refit ahead of a transatlantic crossing to New York.
