Cunard has replaced a cancelled transatlantic voyage on Queen Mary 2 with a special five-night Coronation Celebration cruise starting at £499 a person for a Princess Grills suite.

The voyage, including a visit to the line’s spiritual home of Liverpool, goes on sale tomorrow (April 27) and leaves on Tuesday, May 2, from Southampton.

Cunard says: ‘Guests will be able to enjoy the very best of what Cunard has to offer as well as curated entertainment, Cunard Insights with notable experts, a much‑loved gala evening, Cunard’s signature afternoon tea – and more – as the week builds towards a sense of celebration of the Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort.’

On Saturday, May 6, passengers will be able to join the nation in watching the ceremony live from Westminster Abbey, followed by more events including a coronation dinner inspired by King Charles’ favourite ingredients and a party to commemorate the occasion in style.

Cunard Acting Senior Vice President Angus Struthers said: ‘We wanted to provide an opportunity for our guests to enjoy an unforgettable, very special and unique celebration of the coronation. What better way to mark this momentous occasion than being on board our majestic flagship Queen? We also hope that some guests who were impacted by our disruption last week will be able to join us on board.’

A return voyage to New York, which was due to leave last Sunday, was cancelled on the day due to ‘a technical issue’.
