Celebrity Apex to sail from Southampton for its entire 2024 season – including to the Arctic Circle

For the first time, a ship from Celebrity Cruises’ Edge series will homeport in Southampton. Celebrity Apex – the second in the pioneering class – will sail from the southern England port for its entire 2024 season, replacing Celebrity Silhouette.

Destinations on the four to 13-night sailings between May and November of that year will include a 12-night cruise to the Norwegian fjords and Arctic Circle, including the region’s capital, Tromsø, as well as Norway’s northernmost city, Honnigsvag.

Another new addition to Celebrity’s itineraries from Southampton will be the island of Ibiza.

The news was announced at a London event by the line’s Vice President & Managing Director of Europe, Middle East and Africa, Jo Rzymowska. She said: ‘The UK has always been integral to the success of our brand, and homeporting Celebrity Apex from Southampton underlines our commitment to this market and is testament to the strength of local consumer demand, supported by our formidable travel partners.

‘There is huge appetite from UK guests who share our curiosity for people, places and cultures, and our passion for opening up the world through a love of travel. I’m looking forward to welcoming even more of our guests on board Celebrity Apex when she raises the bar for cruising from Southampton in 2024.’

Ahead of that, Celebrity Silhouette will sail a variety of European itineraries between May and October next year.
