Runner-up: Dave Monk (‘Shipmonk’)
The author of this blog, Dave Monk, was highly commended in the Clia UK and Ireland Cruise Media Awards 2017 tonight.
He was runner-up for ‘best worldwide cruise feature’ for an article in Metro newspaper called Flippin’ Awesome, about a trip he took with Titan Travel and Holland America Line to western Canada and Alaska. The winner of the category was Chris Caldicott of House & Garden.

There were nearly 400 entries for the awards, organised by the Cruise Lines International Association and held in London.
John Honeywell, aka Captain Greybeard, was honoured at the event for his contribution to cruise journalism.
