Taste of what’s to come: It takes a bit of magic (well, a paint brush and water) to make the Wonderland menu appear
Alice and the Mad Hatter would love it – Wonderland is full of surprises on Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the Seas. The revolutionary restaurant, pioneered on sister ship Quantum, serves up dish after dish of extraordinary food – a mix of tastes, textures and looks to tease and excite your palate.
The following pictures – in no particular order – are just some of the courses we were served as a large group, building up to my personal favourite of very slow-cooked beef. If this whets your appetite, just imagine what it’s like to eat…
Bursting with flavour: A liquid manzanilla olive with herb oil
Cone heads: Crispy crab cones with avocado mousse
Down to earth: Baby vegetables in the garden with ‘soil and pebbles’
Crawsome: Liquid lobster
Fowl play: Slow-roasted chicken
Joint success: The delicious slow-cooked terroir beef with river stone potatoes and bordelaise sauce
Crispy duck: A duck liver fritter in crispy crumb
Tuna the day: Sashimi of red and white tuna with charred scallion
Eggs-traordinary: Buffalo chicken eggs with smoke, blue cheese and hot sauce
Leaves – something to be desired: Crispy tempura kim chee leaves with marinated melon
Ice and fire: Baked Alaska
Jolly lollies: One of the delicious desserts
Take a chair – our table awaits us
