A woman banned from joining residential ship Villa Vie Odyssey when it set sail on an ‘endless cruise’ from Belfast in October is elated at finally being able to board next month.
Bonny Kelter was one of two would-be passengers who had their contracts terminated for making critical comments in a private WhatsApp group after the original sailing was delayed from May by a series of repairs and inspections.
Odyssey eventually began its maiden three-and-a-half year world cruise with nine boxes and two suitcases of Bonny’s possessions still on board – including medicines and jewellery – but without her.
However, after coming to an agreement with Villa Vie Residences, Bonny will be joining the ship in Panama City on December 17 at the start of its South America segment.
Bonny, who paid more than £75,000 for her new home on board, told me: ‘I am happy that Villa Vie Residences and I were able to resolve our issues. I am elated about joining the ship and beginning the fulfilment of my lifetime dream of travelling the world while living aboard a cruise ship.’
Villa Vie Residences has been approached for comment.
The other woman banned over WhatsApp messages, Jenny Phenix, is still in dispute with the company.
