Second Virgin Voyages ship Valiant Lady to make her debut in the UK with sailings to Portugal, Spain, the Canaries and Zeebrugge

The second Virgin Voyages ship, Valiant Lady, is to follow in the wake of her older sister and make her debut in the UK.

Like Scarlet Lady, which is due to begin sailings in a month’s time, Valiant Lady will be based in Portsmouth on the English south coast.

Between March 18 and May 14, 2022, the new ship will offer a series of three-night cruises to Zeebrugge on the Belgian coast, as well as 11-night voyages to the Canary Islands and 12-nighters to Spain and Portugal.

The cruises, which go on sale on July 21, will offer late nights or overnights in ports such as Santa Cruz in Tenerife, the Portuguese capital Lisbon and the Spanish resorts of Malaga and Palma de Mallorca.

Valiant Lady will then head to Barcelona to sail the Mediterranean during the summer.

The news was announced after Virgin Voyages cancelled Miami sailings of Scarlet Lady until October 1. Valiant Lady, which was due to begin cruising from the Florida port on November 14 this year, will now cross the Atlantic after its inaugural season in Europe.

A third adults-only ship, Resilient Lady, is due to sail to the Greek islands and Adriatic coast from next summer and a fourth member of the fleet is on order. The near-identical ships will each offer more than 20 dining venues as well as innovative entertainment. All restaurants, group fitness classes, wifi access and tips are included in the fares.

Scarlet Lady has already arrived in Portsmouth ahead of her first passenger sailing on August 8. Her planned debut in Miami in April 2020 was abandoned when the Covid pandemic struck and Virgin Voyages decided to bring her over to the UK this year after the government gave the go-ahead to domestic sailings starting on May 17.
