The P&O Cruises flagship Britannia was struck by another ship in port in Barbados this morning.

The £470million ship was hit by Sea Dream I in Bridgetown.

Pictures uploaded by passenger Steve Dunn to Facebook showed little damage to Britannia but scraping along the port bow of Sea Dream I, which carries only 112 passengers.

Mr Dunn said: ‘Britannia was docked. We were queuing for disembarkation and a few people felt the collision.’

The slideshow below, from pictures shot by another passenger, Graham Webb, shows Sea Dream I approaching and colliding with Britannia as a tug desperately tries to edge it away.

A spokeswoman for P&O Cruises said they were aware of the incident but there were no injuries to guests or crew and no impact on Britannia’s itinerary.

‘Britannia was berthed at the time and there is just a minor paint scuff,’ she added.

Sea Dream Yacht Club did not respond to a request for comment.
